This page is new, it gives the hexadecimal codes for the RCW colors for the web or print.

Print out a color wheel for yourself. If you print and laminate it at Kinko's (they print it best) it will cost you the same as the one I sell and deliver without shipping costs. The colors are spot on and they will last a long time from a Xerox (heat) or an ink-jet printer (wet). The giclee pigments are the same transparent primary pigments I paint with.

This link is for monitor color calibration, it's not an image, but an RGB table of numbers in Real Color Wheel order. Yellow and red to dark brown, cyan and blue to dark blue. http://www.realcolorwheel.com/rcwchart.htm

All visual color is represented by visible wavelengths except magenta, which is there but can't be seen. One of the ways they are measured is in nanometers. This Electromagnetic (EM) Chart plots where the colors are in nanometers. 1,000,000,000 nanometers equals 1 meter. This color information includes every facet of color I thought interesting, wave lengths of color escaped me because I don't think that way, until now. There is more to color than just what you can see reflected. This EM chart plots all colors except magenta because magenta shows up as black, black is clear in a rainbow. Here is the link to the EM wavelength chart on my site. It's 600 ppi, large enough for you to use or print clearly.

I have a laminated CMYK 5x5 RCW printed with heat based permanent inks with the pigment colors printed on the back for $10. It takes a professional printer to print really accurate results. Any commercial Xerox will do. Otherwise the matching names of color pigments are on this site.

The full Real Color Wheel Painting on Location course and paintings sites are on DVD for $35, it includes the laminated 5x5 inch Real Color Wheel with matching pigments printed on the back.

All opposition (complement) colors.
http://www.realcolorwheel.com/complementsneutral.htm

It's really nice to know what colors neutralize any other color you see. Shade any color naturally with-out adding black pigment. I know it sounds too good to be true because it has never been done with all the colors before, but here it is.
My pigments with the RCW numbers. Yellow is (36)RCW#1.0.5, Brown is dark yellow RCW#1.10, Yellow-green is RCW#36.0(.5)

This is how and why the RCW color wheel works. In omnipresent lighting, shade lighting or in bright sunlight, daylight will give these results. Take the red tomato and it's shade/shadow color. The darker color of an object is always made with the opposite of the most saturated/brightest local color. The shadow-opposition color of a red tomato is cyan, red and cyan mix a neutral dark, that's the basis of the tomato's dark side.
Other colors may influence it by their approximation or reflections but that will not change the basic shadow color. This holds true for any colored object.

The old color theory from Newton on is the Red-Yellow-Blue primary color wheel. Which has red and green, yellow and purple, ult. blue and orange as opposite colors and no magenta or cyan. They do not mix neutral darks. These are the most visible colors in the rainbow but not the primary colors, Compare the old with the new.

This color wheel is based on the similarities between color-making elements, crystals, chemicals and pigments. Crushed element crystals are pigments, elements represent colors and chemical colors have the same elements. The yellow crystal becomes dark brown. A Nickel Complex has the chemical name for one of these color pigments, Indian yellow. It's part of the primary painting triad to dark. Know that brown (dark yellow) and ultramarine blue (yellow's opposite) are complements that represent the yellow and blue dark opposition. Primary cyan gets darker by adding it's opposite color red, green is opposite magenta.

The sun in the morning, when it is the brightest has blue shadows, when it's red in the evening it has dark red/cyan shadows. Both are complementary sets of colors. Noon shadows use the magenta and green opposition.
