This is an alkyd painting, the first strokes were dry in three hours. It's a very fast medium.

Love palette knife paintings and other paintings with lots of texture for some reason. Very fresh, very nice.
May I ask you, Don, do you consider separate alkyd tube oils necessary these days with all the alkyd mediums that can be used with regular oils? I have a stash of Alkyds that I believe I'll just not replace once they are gone. They are more apt to harden in the tube and cause be a great deal of physical effort to get the paint out. What do you think? Brownie |

Tubes, no, alkyd yes. It does yellow like any other oil but it's great to work fast.
I made a small eye dropper bottle of turp and Galkyd Oil, 75:25, I think that's what Gamblin calls it. It works great and I just use it as a medium, drop by drop. |
