Bob, your getting real good real fast.
Your darks are excellent and well mixed, your colors clean, scratching and clawing in all the right places. Power you can live by.

What was your palette and medium?

Thanks for the encouragement Don and LennieJo.  I learn by regular practice and study of plein painting books, mags (eg pleinAir) and artist's galleries on the web. Artists such as our member Blair P,  Kevin Mcpherson and Colley Whisson (Aus) are an inspiration

My pallette was Cad Yellow Light, Cad Yellow Deep, Cad Red, Permanent Crimson, Ultra Marine Blue, Viridian Green, Titanium White. I am experimenting Maroger Medium (Don's), thinned with a small amount of No 1 Medium when requiured.  Paint was applied with palette knife, flat bristle brushes Nos 2 and 4 and scratched with end brush handle.

I try to keep the paint bright and clean by wiping the brush and knife clean after each use. I use a lot of tissue paper

Cheers

Hi Bob,
Great stuff! I love the fact you used a knife. I am trying my hand at that as well. I am learning oils, and did a lot of knife painting while doing acrylics.
Happy painting to ya'
Ruth

Thanks Ruth
I often paint with combination of brush and knife and anything else that does the job
Compliments of the season to you
