Title: transparent Yellow- PY 74
Post by Rency on Apr 29th, 2013 at 8:05pm
Chroma/Interactive Acrylics makes a transparent Yellow that is PY 74. Is it a Good one ?

They make a transparent Red oxide too- PR 101.

Their Indian yellow is transparent and is PY 74 &PR 101.

They have translucent permanent green light- PY 74LF & PG 7.

They also have Translucent Burnt Umber and Translucent Cobalt blue(not hue).

Seems like they have more Translucent and Transparent options. What are your thoughts on these.

It's a speciality translucent color, you don't need it.

No, worthless, as you can see, the Color Names and Numbers needs some work. Pigment Red, PR, also includes Magenta, which is a different color. They are stuck with the red-yellow-blue old primaries.

R) Their Indian yellow is transparent and is PY 74 &PR 101.
No, stick to the pigments I chose, they are tried and true.

R) They have translucent permanent green light- PY 74LF & PG 7.
No, worthless, it has to be opaque.

R) They also have Translucent Burnt Umber and Translucent Cobalt blue(not hue).
All burnt Umbers are slightly translucent, I don't depend on them for that quality. Stick with the major brands, if you must have burnt umber get it from Old Holland, Rembrant, W&N.
Translucent Cobalt? What would you use it for? Stay with the opaque color. Basically, translucent colors are worthless except for Burnt Sienna and some yellows that are used for their mass-tone.
