This scene at the Piiholo Rodeo Pavilion is 2 miles from my place in Makawao. This is the rainy season, why did I choose a sunny day?
At least I'm under the pavilion roof. This is another acrylic painting on Location. That's my studio van in the background behind the horse trailer.

Here is my latest acrylics, why did I choose acrylics over oils? Yes oils are probably easier to paint but acrylics don't yellow, don't crack and will probably last longer. The first still has a short way to go. Notice the canvas in the painting and how the jacaranda changes from cool to warm. I'm not sure why, maybe it has something to do with the dark tree behind it.

Tom Booth has recently changed to acrylics, here are two paintings we just finished, they are from his daughter's porch.
