Pantone has a magenta ink, C=0, Y=0, M=100% K=0, used to print their Pantone Process Color System Guide. This ink matches the magenta color ink that I print with on my giclee printer. This is the same color on my Real Color Wheel that matches water colors, acrylics and oil paints. This color is Color Index Number PR:122. This color paint I first found perfect was from Liquitex, back when it was still called by them Acra Violet, it's been called Magenta now for a long time.  Back then (1993) the only transparent yellow was from Old Holland as an oil paint. I guess the first acrylic transparent yellow paint was my own. I got the best Indian Yellow color match from a pigment dealer in Florence and made it. Today I would make it with a transparent yellow I found from Spectra Colors Corp. This transparent yellow Azo pigment is called Tartrazine and it didn't fade or turn brown after 6 months on my dashboard after 6 months of the Lahaina sun. Lahaina means the Land of the Burning Sun.

Pencils and Pastels and crayons need pressure, lighter colors are not generally made with less pressure, it takes another pencil, as pastels do. Magenta, PR:122 is Prismacolor's #995 called Mulberry.  This is a full hue magenta that in watercolors would be thinned down to make pink. In pencil use #994 called Process Red as the lighter tint of magenta. Both make good darks with green (#909 Grass Green). Put the green down first and last.

Prismacolor 1003 Spanish Orange is a dual-toned pencil. Light rubbing with is will give a lighter hue of yellow. It shows up more with an alcohol wash.

Prismacolor PC922 Poppy Red needs more red in it, cadmimum red light would be the pigment to use.

Instead of using the dark shade Dark Umber PC# 947 Dark Umber R/s, my draw-down with acetone shows its probably made of red and black pigment. Instead of using that to darken RCW#1.9.5 into RCW#1.10.5, use it's opposite color Ultramarine blue that PC calls PC#933, Violet Blue. Violet Blue is a darker Ult. Blue.

Prismacolor's Cyan, PC903, called True Blue, pencil#31 has too much magenta in it, it's closer to cobalt blue hue. Maybe there is a better match in a larger set but for now I'm moving it to Cobalt Blue's spot, RCW#22 and leaving the Cyan blank.

Prismacolor's light Cerulean is really light ult. blue.

Comparing the darkest browns,
Prismacolors Dark Umber has more red in it then Dark Brown, which is on the yellow side.
Sepia is the darkest brown in the set. It's raw umber hue, darker then the natural raw umber in oils.
Under a magnifying glass I laid in these colors, the wax was soft enough to push around the laid color with the pencil, great for filling in holidays (sparkles). I don't think Prismacolor uses any natural pigments in their pencils.
Prismacolor has 3 dark browns, a magenta side brown RCW#10.10.5, a green side brown RCW#33.10.5 and a yellow side brown RCW#1.8.1. Normally Raw umber is a yellow-green side brown. Burnt umber is normally a red side brown. Prismacolor's Dark Brown is really a lighter burnt umber, a handy color.

D. Blick has 2 dark browns, a red side and a yellow side. Those are the normal burnt umber and raw umber. Dick Blick calls then Bt Umber and Dk Brown.
D. Blick also has a great cyan hue called Ice Blue, their darker mass-tone RCW#25.7 is called Azure Blue.
D. Blick's Cobalt Blue Dark is Ultramarine Blue RCW#19.

Prismacolor 72 color set includes 48 chroma colors, 11 tints, 13 non-color.
Here they are mounted on the 36 Real Color Wheel. 4-5-7, plus one extra added color, PC919 Non-Photo Blue as Cyan.
First make a couple copies of the uncolored color wheel, for tests when adding new colors.
Get a blank RGB 7" templet to print and color in go to:
http://www.realcolorwheel.com/RCWpenciltemplet300dpi.tif.zip

*36RCW Colors: Primary= RCW#1 is Yellow, RCW#13 is Magenta, RCW#25 is Cyan. Remove the Indigo Blue pencil PC901, and replace it with PC919 Non-photo Blue. This color does not come with this 72 color set but it is very important.
*RCW's Three Set Numbering System:
RCW#(colors from 1 to 36).(values: mass-tones = 0, tints = 009 to 001-lightest, shadow = 1 to 10-darkest)(modified from the center of that variable gradients color = 1-9)
*Values: 10 shadow blocks down to neutral dark, 9 tint blocks up to white.
*3 primary colors equally separated by 120 degrees on a circle of 360 degrees. Blend these 3 transparent colors evenly in the large outer circle blocks, or buy pre-made colors of any media. Color code each 10 degree block of color starting with pure yellow as #1.0.5, each new color is 10 degrees away in the 36 color wheel. The center color of each 10 degree range of variable colors represents all nine different colors on a 36RCW 10 degree color. The center of those nine colors is 5. Modifier is the term for the third number set.

*How to read this palette list.
PC1011 = Prismacolor pencil number for a hue called Deco Yellow, the first pencil RCWPC#01 on the RCW/Prismacolor colorwheel.
RCW#1.0.1 = Real Color Wheel Number for Deco Yellow, a tint of Lemon Yellow.
RCWPC#01 = RCW/Prismacolor pencil numbering; starting with Prismacolor's yellow PC#1 and ending with their yellow-green PC#46.

*To find a Prismacolor pencil name or PC number, search for it in your browser's "Find"

...

*How to print this list so the columns are evenly spaced.
Copy this type from your browser, paste it in your text editor and change the type font to Courier (a fixed width font). Print away! Fill in color blocks with Prismacolor's 72 color set + 1. Darken colors naturally without using black pigment.

If it is okay I will post it on your forum.

I understand about the black color in pencils, there is a similar problem with pastels. Both medium's layer on color and don't really mix them together. Magenta and green will probably give you a darker black.
