Paia in the Rain

77.htm, I painted this standing outside my second gallery, it took two weeks from 9:00 to 1:00 every night. It rains a lot in the winter in Paia.  There is never any black pigment used in any of my work, the darks are rich and colorful, as they should be.

A big sea bird was thrown into an overhead wire by the strong storm winds, I picked it up and brought it inside, I finished the painting that night and took it to my place in Lahaina. It spent a day in the bathtub and the following day I took it out waist high in the ocean, it flew away without saying goodbye.
