COLD PRESSED LINSEED OIL, 5 YEAR TEST, GESSO ON RAG PAPER

12

No doubt this is the winning natural oil, look at that test area, it's almost as clear as dammar mastic, Venetian balsam or wax.

Today I checked the paint test results of 1995 for an 18 year test report,
the best non-yellowing oil mediums are:
wax, damar, poppy oil, Venice Turpentine, cold pressed with damar and raw cold pressed linseed oil.
None of them changed in 18 years.
Another yellow test with W/N linseed done in 2000 did yellow, maybe it was a bad batch??
Stand oil didn't make the grade, maybe it wasn't made with cold pressed, they don't tell you on the label.
I wish we had alkyd media to compare back then, I love the way it paints and dries so quickly.
