GOLDEN CHALICE

Painting on shinny aluminum with transparent pigments


First the background. I marked the outline with transparent and opaque paint.

 This second shot is with a flash on the clear cup.

My first try was all mastic and wax. I couldn't smooth it out.

 I cleaned the mastic off the cup and applied the alkyed oil and O.H. Indian Yellow B/s. That went down smoothly but took 3 days to dry.

I removed the oil based cup portion because the paint was not transparent enough and showed milkiness.
The acrylic is better color. The background has changed and the painting is not finished yet.
It's finished, but it's now a Silver Chalice.
