Cutting Sugar Cane by Hand 9"x12"

Painted on hard pressed masonite, final seal with water based polyurethane.

Sugar cane is usually burned then gathered into trucks, in this painting they are gathering it by hand.
Industrial hemp would be a better crop.

This painting took four hours to do.

To make painting more real looking I paint the overlapping objects three deep as this area shows.
That means an object in front, the middle area and seeing through the middle area to something behind it.

This was my pet Max, a mongoose that traveled with me everywhere for two years.
At the same time I had a little Australian silkie named Jimmy that protected Max from cats.
I like using strong complements when I see them, like this red and azure, they happen all the time
just keep your eye out for them. Print out my Real Color Wheel to match up the colors to pigments.

NEXT PAINTING, Acrylic, Hosmer Grove, Paint The Bird Before It Flies Away.
