The acrylic painting was painted on location in Ohau at the home of my friend Jo Okaza. The tea ceramony set belonged to his wife and are thought to be over 75 years old. Their portraits are in the background book case.

The purple jacaranda tree starts blooming in the spring, it came from Africa. Most of the jacaranda trees on Maui are in the 2,000 to 4,000 foot elevation. This tree is in Kula. |
About 6,000 foot up Haliakala mountain is Hosmeir Grove, a very peaceful park just about at the normal cloud level. This is the beginning of the bird trail. |
Pookaia Park is about 15 miles from Hana, the area is very lush and inviting. A perfect picnic lunch spot if you are driving to Hana. |
One hundred years ago this type of housing dotted the island, the sugar cane workers lived in them. Today they are getting very rare and are worth painting. |
Fruit Stands come and go here. This one was in Nahiku. It's speciality was limes from the great lime tree in their backyard. |

This replica of an 1800 Whaling ship graced the Lahaina harbor until the Lahaina Action Committee removed it in 2006. They had it sunk in shallow waters within reach of divers. This water color painting took two weeks on location and was finished one week before it was dismantled. |
Poli Poli is about 7,000 to 8,000 feet up the mountain, this road is near the top. The road continues on to the very top, 10,000 feet. This water color is the morning view from my studio van. |
